This week we had to make a resume for a job in game design. Here is my experience throughout the assignment. Cover Letter- Now the Cover letter was the most difficult part of the assignment for me. Since that, sentence structure and word choice isn't really my strong suit in writing. Also I found that using a template, is very helpful when making these type of documents. Finally, certain sites helped me create a decent cover letter as you will see in references. Resume- The Resume, was not a difficult task for me in completing this assignment. But, as we (my class) went over my resume I had many flaws. Such as in the skills section, I included the wrong skills needed for the job. Also in the education section, I included my real address instead of the school's address. In conclusion, after fixing these flaws I think that my resume is pretty good. Evoland This week Evoland was something that I played through. So this is the raging pain I went through. First I started out with a 2D model of a character that I thought was Link, but wasn't. In Evoland you unlock chest that give you different aspects of the game. The first few I got were movement, a name, color, music, a weapon, monsters, and random battle encounters.
Let's just go over the "Random Battle Encounter's" for a moment. Those were just so critical to your experience of the game in my opinion. First, you can get a lot of Glis (Evoland currency) after the battle. Second, these battles are the best so far in the game. It's just that simple. Then the last corral of chest that I unlocked were. Village, 3D, Boss fights, merchants, health bar, mini map, companions, bow, sword, armor, "double twin" (mini game/card game). Right here in the game was where the raging was at it's highest level. I'm guessing if I had a death counter it would be around thirty. The farthest I got in Evoland over the four days was the Mage boss fight in the underworld or whatever it is. A review of Sci VisThis week, was the first week of game design for me. During the week we did a review of Sci Vis, and we did it through making Info graphics. Info graphics (in my opinion) are very creative ways of explaining a topic of something. I think that mine was very subtle. But creative enough for the topic given. While doing this Info graphic I gained back some knowledge from sci vis. Such as shortcuts and tricks/special tools used in Photoshop.
