Is it Interesting? The new Spider-Man game that was released for the PlayStation 4 is a must-have. I don't have the game myself, but I have watched multiple gameplay walkthrough's on YouTube and live streams on Twitch. "I was left delighted at nearly every step of its 15-hour adventure thanks to a surprisingly deep tale that mines the plights of both Spider-Man and Peter Parker to great emotional success"(IGN). The gameplay is very mind-blowing and spectacular, it's almost hard to believe that you can do some of these things in a video game. Unlocking suits, in my opinion, is one the most exciting feature in the game. Gameplay From what I've seen the combat controls in Spider-Man, are way more complex than what you've might have seen in past Spider-Man games. Such as gadgets. There's one gadget called a "web bomb". The web bomb sticks to an enemy after you shoot it out of one of your web shooters. There are much other fun and new combat controls. "His animations are so detailed that no matter the obstacle, I got the sense that I could truly do whatever a Spider-Man could."(IGN). My feature in the game that you can do, is web swings. Swinging through New York makes you feel like the comic has come to life. Web swinging is a very fast, fun and exciting way to transport through New York. "Insomniac has found web-spun gold with Spider-Man’s swinging mechanic, enhancing it with additional moves like a focal point web zip that allowed me to turn any ledge, beam, or satellite tower into a jumping off point to continue my non-stop movement."(IGN)". Also, you get to play as other, character's in the game such as Miles Morales and Mary Jane. Missions/Story Line "At first, I found myself pretty much just punching and dodging, occasionally webbing up a foe so I could focus on a more powerful baddie. But as I unlocked more skills from Spider-Man’s skill trees and gadgets, combat became an improvisational delight."(IGN). The main mission deals with Peter Parker battling these classic foes on the side, but he mainly worries about these masked foes. Conclusion Like I said before, Spider-Man is a must-have game, if it isn't on your wish-list, put it on there. It is always full of action and fun but at the same time controversy. Also if you're confused this Spider-Man game isn't a sequel based on any of the past Spider-Man games. "I wanted Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 to make me feel like Spider-Man: To sail between the high rises of New York City, to nimbly web up hordes of enemies, and tussle with familiar, animal-themed villains. Insomniac Games’ first foray into the world of Marvel handily delivers on all of that."(IGN). I hope that this game review gave you the influence on checking out the game itself and you buying it. The Job I WantI saw a job posting for a Temporary Level Designer, earlier this week on Gamasutra. The company who put out the job posting was Deep Silver Volition. The company has made games such as Agents Of Mayhem, Saints Row, Red Faction, and Descent/Free space series. I was looking at the qualifications needed in order to get the job. A qualification that I saw was that 3D modeling is a plus. I have two years of experience 3D modeling in 3Ds Max. Another one of the qualifications was to have the ability to think creatively and analytically. I really like to think outside of the box and try to incorporate things into my design that many other people don’t try to do. In my eyes I see that I am kind of qualified for the job. Although in some qualifications, I don't meet the expectations. Such as a post high school education in a game development relevant discipline; emphasis on level design preferred. ResponsibilitiesAlso in the job posting there are responsibilities that I'll be assigned with if I get the job. One of the responsibilities that I’ll be assigned with assists with designing, creating, implementing, and iterating on level spaces for fun and compelling game play. This task will not be a challenge for me since I have experience in making levels in a game. It also says on the job posting that I may be tasked with other duties. In my portfolio, you will see that some of my artwork, are good images for loading screens. Another responsibility was to assist with designing, creating, implementing, and iterating on level spaces for fun and compelling game play. I can easily handle that task. Summary
